In BI class, we were reading the novel called “When Broken Glass Floats” which is about the Cambodian colonialism. One of our assignment was to make a creative essay that is divided into four types which are, poem, diary, letter, and pengembangan bab. I chose to write a diary in the character's point of view. This was a very challenging assignment for me because I really don't have much ability to describe other's feelings and thoughts. However, I chose this as my sample work because I think I did what I can do to get a passing grade.

The past can teach us meaningful lessons, even if it's war. The novel taught us how the main character goes through her life in concentration camps and how she had to face the death of her family. This novel told us that not everyone involved in wars are evil, because there are still some people who are truly kind hearted.
