CAS
During the Bali fieldtrip, the Grade seven students have CAS activity which is cleaning the Jimbran beach. We cleaned the beach using a bamboo tool. We cleaned the beach during our 4th day in Bali. Unfortunately, since it was the rainy seasons, it was raining for four times during the beach clean up. There was also supposed to be grade seven students from SMP 9 but since they have a test, they cannot come. We cleaned the beach starting from the gate until the end, which is the hotel at the side. During the beach clean up we were paired and given an empty trash sack to fill it with garbage. The garbage we are suppose to collect is non-organic so we can recycle it in the factory. When I was cleaning the beach I collected a lot of non-organic waste, such as plastic cups, cigarettes, some clothing and other plastic materials. The beach was dirty because there are tourist who go there a lot and they sometimes don't care about the environment, this does not happen to only this beach, there are lots of other beaches in Bali that is now dirty. There’s not only tourist who litter in the beach but also some of the local people. I think that it is not good to litter anywhere because it’s destroying the environment. If the environment is dirty then it will not be good for human’s health. If the beaches in Bali is dirty then the sea creatures will die and there will be no tourist, and Bali will not be the same again. Littering also creates pollution. The Jimbaran beach that we cleaned is not yet so dirty but if the people still keep on littering, the beach may get worse. To prevent this from happening there should be trash bins provided so they will throw their garbage properly
