Reflection of the year
A. Goal:
Referring to your goal this academic year, have you succeeded in achieving the goals? Give the reasons for your answer.
I do not think I have succeeded in achieving my goals, because I realised that this wasn't my best year. I think my goal wasn't achieved since I have not taken full responsibility of all my actions in class or outside. I don't think I have given full effort this year, but I think I did improve from last year. My goals for this year was to always be prepared to class. I have not achieved this because I was unprepared for class a lot of times.
B. Subject:
1. In what Subject that you achieve the best for this academic year? Give an explanation and proof for the reason.
The subject that I have achieve the best for this academic year is probably math. I didn't get a perfect score in any of my math tests but when I found out that I passed the semester test with a passing score, I was weirdly happy. I know that a passing score is not something to be proud of, but I think I was quite satisfied, because I have never passed a semester test in this academic year, not since quarter four.
2. In what subject that you struggle the most for this academic year? Give an explanation for the reason! How will you do it differently/improve it?
The subject that I struggle the most for this academic year is Bahasa Indonesia. Since MYP, I have always been struggling with Bahasa Indonesia subject, because it was very challenging for me. This year, I don't think I improved Bahasa because my grades are not really appropriate. This problem happen because I always underestimated my self in this subject and so I made least effort. I would improve this in the next academic year by being more serious in this subject and learn diligently.
C. Approaches to Learning (1)Organization, 2)Collaboration, 3)Communication, 4) Reflection, 5)Information Literacy, 6)Transfer and 7)Thinking) see attached document for list of Approaches to Learning or ATL:
1. Which ATL are you confident with? In which subject and how do you learn those skills? How will you continue to master the skills?
I think the ATL that I am confident with is collaboration. I learned collaboration skill in the subject PE and Science. During PE, I learned the collaboration skill by playing well with my friends. I think this skill is very important in sports because almost every sport needs teamwork. I also learned to collaborate during science because there were lots of group projects in this subject. When the teacher decided the groups for us, I get to work with people I don't really know and get to know more about them. And when we were allowed to choose our own group members, I learned to collaborate professionally with my closest friends. I think this was a hard part of collaboration because it's hard to remain serious when working with close friends. I will continue to master this skill by acknowledging more people that I don't really know in my class, and participate in group projects.
2. Which ATL are you less confident with? How will you develop the skills? What help do you need from school?
The ATL that I'm less confident is organisation and thinking. These are my weakest skills because throughout the year, I wasn't able to be organised with my assignments and tests. Thinking is also my weakest skill because i wasn't able to think wisely about my decisions. I will try to develop these skills by trying my best during school time and being more focused in the subjects while in school. I think the only thing that the school could help me is just the encouragement to improve my skill, so I could be more motivated to be a better students next year.
