My sample work for this quarter in English is the visual interpretation for I am David. This interpretation was to show our thoughts on the book and make it into something visual. Before making the visual object, we need to know what theme in the book we'll show in the object. From this assignment, I learned to use my imagination to visualize something that describes something else.
This subject is connected to the IB learner profile "thinkers" because we really need to think about the visual object that represents the book "I am David." The theme of my drawing is David's hope. I created David's sad eye that is peeping through a key whole of a prison cell. From this drawing, I am trying to say that David was feeling sorrow and sadness, but he feels hope when "the man" offered him to escape.
In the future, I would like to improve on how I interpret books. My visual object didn't quite show the theme since the drawing was too simple and hard to understand. Next time I would think of better objects to make that will support my theme.
